Unite for a Charitable Cause

In a heartwarming display of community spirit and generosity, Mitch Revs collaborated with Fox Sports to create a one-of-a-kind artwork for the Newcastle 500 Supercars event. The artwork, which featured signatures from every 2019 Supercars driver, Fox Sports commentators, and local Newcastle personalities, was auctioned off to raise funds for the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (RFS).

The commissioned artwork, a large 1.5m by 2.5m banner, featured Supercars drivers such as Scott McLaughlin, Shane van Gisbergen, and Jamie Whincup and prominent Newcastle personalities. The piece also incorporated other notable figures, including surfers, a Red Bull Air Racing world champion, and even a Newcastle Knights legend. The auction for the artwork took place over 4 days, with bidding opening during the Supercars Trackside event and closing after the season-ending Race 32 at the Coates Hire Newcastle 500

As the auction progressed, the bidding escalated, and with just 45 minutes remaining, the highest bid stood at $6,000. However, in the final minutes, a flurry of bids resulted in a breathtaking climax. Ultimately, a generous bid of $35,000 from a bidder secured the artwork. The entire proceeds from the auction was donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service.

Mitch reflected on the journey that led to this extraordinary collaboration and the incredible result it achieved. Revs acknowledged the significance of supporting the NSW Rural Fire Service during such challenging times and expressed pride in being part of a community that cares deeply for one another.
