Peter Simmons

Peter embarked on his artistic journey at the Newcastle College of Advanced Education, immersing himself in the study of plant and wildlife illustration. However, it was a serendipitous encounter with a discarded piece of wood that sparked his passion for sculpture. Transferring the images from his mind onto the wood, Peter found himself enamored by the expressive potential of sculptural art.

His artistic endeavors have garnered recognition across New South Wales, with his work showcased in galleries and exhibitions. Peter's talent earned him a coveted spot in the 2000 Thredbo Sculpture Symposium, where his creation, 'Snowgums', became a notable addition to the Thredbo Sculpture Walk. His sculptures and illustrations have found homes not only in Australia but also overseas, testament to the universal appeal of his artistic vision.
