Liz Sherrif

With a formal education and degree in art and textile design, along with experience running her own photographic agency, Liz has developed a keen eye for composition and colour. Her practice reimagines historical botanical illustration through a modern lens, blending tradition with innovation.

Working primarily in pen and ink, Liz creates intricate drawings that are printed onto watercolour paper and meticulously hand-coloured, resulting in works that balance precision with expressive vibrancy.

“Inspired by the English gardens of my youth, my process, drawing, printing, and hand-colouring, pays homage to the detail of historical botanical engravings while embracing the fluidity and spontaneity of contemporary art.”
