Jenni Jean is an Australian contemporary abstract artist based in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Her nursing career, including community palliative care, has given her the privilege of supporting people through some of life’s most challenging and transformative moments. Her paintings express the energy of human emotion and experience. In 2026, she presented her debut solo exhibition in Newcastle. She paints from her home studio in the Hunter Valley, where her practice continues to evolve through a fascination with what it means to be human.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My practice explores human experience through abstract painting. Working intuitively in layered acrylics and expressive mark-making, I give form to energy, connection and transformation. Each painting unfolds through a process of discovery, where layers are gradually revealed, concealed and refined as meaning emerges. I create visual expressions of emotion that are deeply felt yet difficult to articulate.
